概要
ISAAC antisismica, born out of a Politecnico di Milano project, builds proprietary Active Mass Damper systems that protect existing buildings from seismic events without invasive structural modification or interruption of building operations. Hundreds of its devices are installed in strategic Italian buildings including the San Martino Polyclinic Hospital in Genoa and the Port of Genoa control tower. The company manages the full system lifecycle from design and installation through continuous monitoring. Headquartered in Milan.
創業の背景
ISAACは2018年、ミラノ工科大学のエコシステムで進められた研究プロジェクトから生まれた。同社財務責任者のPietro Ravanelli氏によると、建物をただ補強するのではなく、地震の際に建物が知的に反応し、能動的で適応的なシステムによって構造への負荷を実時間で減らすという、新しい発想を耐震の分野に持ち込むことが使命だったという。想定する対象は、現代の耐震基準以前に建てられた学校、病院、公共施設、歴史的建造物などで、使用を止められない、あるいは改変が許されない建物が多いとしている。CEO兼創業者はAlberto Bussini氏である。
