Delox

Delox is a spin-off of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon that eliminates biological contaminants such as bacteria, fungi and viruses from surfaces and enclosed environments. Its main product, the Delox Box, decontaminates laboratory instruments using a hydrogen peroxide based technology, and the company is developing Delox Air for air biodecontamination compatible with human presence. Founded in 2018, it operates with a team of eight from the Tec Labs innovation centre in Lisbon and is pursuing ECHA and EPA certification. Headquartered in Lisbon.

Deloxはリスボン大学理学部の研究プログラムに端を発する。同社の説明では、2010年にJoão Silva教授とFernando Antunes教授が、過酸化水素を制御放出する多孔質材料の共同研究を始めた。当初は治療用途が中心だった。2016年にAntunes氏と修士学生だったFadhil Musa氏がCOHiTECプログラムに参加し、実験結果とメンタリングを経てバイオ除染に焦点を移し、同年末にDeloxの名でプロジェクトが正式に始まった。2018年に同大学のスピンオフ企業として設立され、固体の過酸化水素技術DeloxHPを開発している。
