概要
Kinematic Trees builds nature-inspired, robot-agnostic intelligence software and safety layers that sit on top of third-party robotics hardware. It works with robotics providers on integrated customer solutions, helps manufacturers bring robotics products to market, and lets developers commercialise robotics software assets. The funding builds commercial, robotics and software engineering teams across London, Nottinghamshire and Sheffield. Headquartered in Worksop.
創業の背景
2025年に、シェフィールド大学の計算神経科学の上級講師であるStuart Wilson博士（CEO）と、Cyberselves Universal（のちのBettering our Worlds）の共同創業者として事業売却を経験したDaniel Camilleri（CTO）が創業した。2人は2017年に米スタンフォード大学で開かれたLiving Machinesに参加した際、「汎用ロボットの脳」の構想を語り合い、動物の脳の適応に関する理論に基づくロボット制御システムに取り組んでいた。ロボットのハードウェアは急速に進歩する一方、それを役立つ形で動かすソフトウェアの移植性が不足しているという問題意識から、機種を問わない知能層の開発を始めた。
