概要
Cellares operates as an Integrated Development and Manufacturing Organization, running its Cell Shuttle automation platform to produce cell therapies for biopharma partners. In April 2026 it manufactured and delivered the first GMP doses of Cabaletta Bio's investigational CAR-T therapy rese-cel on the platform. ARK Invest joined the company's existing Series D with this investment. Headquartered in South San Francisco, California.
創業の背景
Cellaresはカリフォルニア州サウスサンフランシスコに本社を置き、自らを「最初の統合開発製造組織(IDMO)」と称する細胞治療の製造企業である。共同創業者でCEOのFabian Gerlinghausは、CRISPR関連製品を手がけるSynthegoで最高イノベーション責任者を務め、同社のRNA合成装置の共同発明者である。共同創業者で社長のOmar Kurdiも、Synthego、Finesse Solutions、Thermo Fisher Scientificで製造組織を率いた。同社は、細胞治療の製造が長らく手作業中心の職人的な工程に制約されてきたとの問題意識から、世界全体の患者需要を満たすことを使命に掲げている。
