創業の背景
Dogtooth Technologiesは、ケンブリッジ大学でコンピュータビジョンの博士号を取得したダンカン・ロバートソン氏（創業者兼CEO）とエド・ハーバート氏（創業者兼COO）らが率いる英国の企業で、UKTNは2014年の設立と報じている。両創業者はMetailなどのスタートアップでの経験を持つ。同社は2016年から英国とオーストラリアの生産者と協力し、商業用のロボット収穫ソリューションを開発してきたと説明している。背景には園芸分野で季節労働者の不足と人件費の上昇が続く事情があり、CEOは、労働力不足は無視できない現実になったと述べている。
