Finapp is a University of Padova spin-off that commercialises Cosmic Ray Neutron Sensing (CRNS) probes for non-invasive, real-time, large-area measurement of soil moisture and snow water equivalent. Its probes detect cosmic-ray-generated neutrons, muons and gamma radiation. Applications include precision agriculture, water-resource and snowpack management, water-leak detection, environmental monitoring and scientific research. The company runs two production units in Italy and is opening offices in France and the United States.
