概要
TerraSpark is developing technology to capture solar energy in orbit and transmit it wirelessly to Earth using radio frequency, making power available regardless of time of day or weather. The company, founded in 2025 in Luxembourg, is starting with terrestrial commercialisation of RF wireless energy transmission for industrial uses before scaling to orbit. It plans an orbital technology demonstrator in 2027 and a first space-to-Earth transmission system in 2028. Headquartered in Luxembourg.

TerraSparkは2025年にルクセンブルクで設立された欧州のスタートアップで、宇宙太陽光発電の実現を目指している。創業者はCEOのJasper Deprez、CTOのSanjay Vijendran、COOのMatthias Laugの3人である。Deprezは人事テック企業Tradlerを世界展開させた起業家、VijendranはESAで宇宙太陽光発電プログラムSolarisを担当した元ESA職員、LaugはLieferandoとTier Mobilityの共同創業者である。同社は、欧州の送電網が逼迫し、データセンターなどで電力需要が増える中で、天候や昼夜に左右されない電力を送る手段が必要だとして、この課題に取り組んでいる。
