概要
Sonomind is a French deeptech developing non-invasive, painless treatment of mental illness using low-intensity focused ultrasound. A custom acoustic lens targets deep brain structures without surgery or implants, and sessions can be delivered without hospitalisation. The technology draws on 25 years of research at the Institut Physique pour la Medecine; early clinical results at Hopital Sainte-Anne reported over 60 percent symptom-severity reduction after five consecutive days of treatment. Headquartered in Paris.
創業の背景
Sonomind の技術は、Institut Physique pour la Médecine（Inserm、ESPCI Paris-PSL、CNRS）で Mickaël Tanter 教授と Jean-François Aubry 氏が25年にわたり進めた研究に由来する。うつ病は世界で3億人が罹患し、患者の30から50%は薬物治療に反応しないとされる。同社はこの課題に超音波神経調節で取り組む。共同創業者で president の Jérémy Bercoff 氏は Supersonic Imagine の CTO などを務めた医療機器業界出身である。2025年に300万ユーロのシードを調達し、技術プラットフォームの初版を完成させた。
